Sad and frighteningly realistic. I don't agree that we have no purpose in life -- in that way the lyrics are just way to hopeless. The world does try to make us "fit" and many of us never will. I, for one, am glad I will never fit. Yes, I get depressed and manic and just plain weird, but I enjoy being different. Normal is boring and often contrary to my beliefs.
