It's a heart thing

Gianna spoke yesterday about a pain in her heart. At first I was worried for her... instantly thinking of an impending heart attack. But as I read on, a little light of recognition swtiched on:

"...it radiates out from my heart chakra into my whole being....Today I figure it out. And as I did the pain subsided some. It’s blocked spiritual energy. It’s the energy of the mania that was triggered by hallucinogens. It’s been stifled in me ever since I took the psych drugs. My mania was profoundly spiritual and legitimately so as far as I’m concerned. Now this feeling is all the joy and love and euphoria crammed down in my being asking to be released"

A light of recognition because, although I don't experience this sensation as actual pain, a 'heart feeling' has been on my mind a lot in the past year. Whenever I try to describe it in journalling, or to my husband, I say it's like a constant feeling of adrenaline... or like a feeling of humming in my chest. A 'revved up' feeling. It's often accompanied by irritability, and it is almost always when I am either hypomanic or about to switch into that phase. It's not a totally unpleasant feeling for me, rather one that's bothersome in that it's not easy to ignore.

Thinking that it might be 'blocked spiritual energy' makes a lot of sense to me. I did a fair amount of energy work when I went to a psychologist who specialized in Energy Psychology a few years ago before my divorce. I think I should revisit some of those techniques for keeping the energy flowing as it should.

Does anyone else out there experience odd sensations in their chest area?

Not specifically in my chest. I get a buzzing in my head. Like the back of my brain is vibrating. Very strange.

I followed a comment you posted on Shiv's blog over here so I had to ask why you discontinued Lamictal? I've been on it for a quite a while now and love it.

I agree with Tori, it's like a humming, vibrating thing in my head. And I kind of feel like I'm going to jump out of my skin. Like every muscle is tense and I need to go run a mile, or do something brutally physical that will exhaust me. I usually clean the house. All of it. From windows, to curtains to carpet and floor boards. It's pretty much the only time my house gets spotless.
Thanks for stoping by my blog and leaving a comment BTW!

Yes, I went for EKG and a mammogram thinking something was wrong. It went away as I healed emotionally.

Hey tori, thanks for coming by. I've heard of that buzzing in the brain, it sounds annoying. Lamictal - well I was on it for only 2 weeks, and the side effects were minimal. I'm just not 100% convinced I need to be on it, and I'd like to find that out first. Also, I'm trying to taper off Effexor, and I just think, one thing at a time. Unless things get unbearable, which they're not right now. Take care!

Hi rapid cycle gal, yeah, I know that cleaning the house thing.. a great side effect if you ask me! It certainly doesn't get anywhere near that kind of attention at any other time. Another buzzing in the head side effect... are you on Lamictal too? I'd just like to know if this is something I could be looking at if I were to go on it more longterm down the road. Thanks for coming over!

Stephany, hi, that's encouraging to know that it's gone away. Last year I wore a holter moniter for a day to try and figure out some heart palipations that had been going on. They went away after a few months, not sure it it was tied into Effexor or not, but I've heard it can be a side effect.

My scalp gets tighter. It feels like my head is on more securely, literally.
